The eCommerce Innovation Lab (EIL) is a national U.S. Commercial Service Office under the International Trade Administration, which is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The office is based in Silicon Valley, CA and plays a critical role in exponentially increasing U.S. exports by delivering tools and services that empower U.S. companies to sell more online, overseas. Here is an overview of our core services and initiatives to date:
Begin crafting your global plan with our eCommerce Export Strategy Toolkit – Use our interactive toolkit to walk you through the nine critical elements of a successful global ecommerce strategy. We provide several resources to help you work through each element, such as important questions to consider, pertinent research information and videos. Getting to Global Interview Series
Learn ecommerce best practices from the pros through our Getting to Global Interview Series – We are constantly interviewing ecommerce industry leaders and successful retailers to identify the do’s and don’ts of a successful global ecommerce strategy and we share these valuable insights in short, dynamic videos and podcasts. The series captures best-practices and trends in selling online including identifying market opportunities, building your brand, online customer acquisition, getting paid, choosing the right channel mix and more. Fine-tune your global strategy by attending an eCommerce Export Leadership Lab – If you’re laying the foundation for an effective global ecommerce strategy or want to strengthen your current plan, our eCommerce Export Leadership Labs can help. This program helps U.S. retailers and brands find service providers to enhance their cross-border sales. The program is conducted in collaboration with the Global Retail Insights Network (GRIN), a 501(c6) non-profit organization whose mission is to help cross-border retailers and vendor partners lead and innovate through knowledge and collaboration.
