Announcing New Partnership Between SIDO and Getting to Global

Press Release – updated: Feb 26, 2020 09:00 EST

WASHINGTON, February 26, 2020 (Newswire.com) – Getting to Global and the State International Development Organizations (SIDO) have partnered to create Export Connect, a new platform that brings together all the resources and experts U.S. businesses need to export smarter. Getting to Global is an initiative that connects exporters to global business resources while SIDO, a non-profit and non-partisan organization, is dedicated to promoting international trade for states. Thanks to this new partnership, Export Connect becomes the de facto platform for U.S. businesses to access valuable tools, expert advice, and government and industry resources needed to expand overseas.

Patrick L. Perreault, CEO of Getting to Global, said, “We saw early on that there was no shortage of expertise and tools to help companies go global. Yet companies were struggling to find the right resources online. With Export Connect, we created a consolidated online toolbox for companies to connect them to the experts, tools, financing, and government resources they need to go global. We’re proud to count SIDO as a partner, as they bring a wealth of knowledge and strong links with localized State ecosystems, including trade promotion organizations and agencies, to Export Connect.”

Andy Karellas, Executive Director of SIDO, said, “One of our primary objectives is to reduce the barriers to exporting and make it easier for all U.S. companies, small and large, to compete in the global marketplace. Getting to Global helps streamline the process by putting all the resources in one platform. Having a one-stop-shop will help SIDO members advise their companies — especially the small firms — through the trade process and secure the foreign sale.”

About SIDO

The State International Development Organizations (or SIDO) is the only national organization focused on supporting governors’ international trade agendas by serving and representing the 50-state trade agencies to the federal government. It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, affiliated with The Council of State Governments, or CSG, and comprises international economic development practitioners and professionals from state and related organizations across the country. SIDO helps state international trade programs better serve American exporters and international company investors by sharing innovative ideas and resources, developing the skills of state trade professionals, advocating the interests of states in international trade promotion and facilitating multistate collaboration.
